  1. In the video, they touching a few problems. The first is to let disabled people vote using a web browser or mobile phone (Voatz). That's a really simple way to vote and what is more important this method is available for everyone (only older people could have problems but they have the possibility to vote using letters). The second is security, but they are using the same system as in the bank.
However, I'm not sure if two-way authentification is enough. In my opinion, everything should be based on blockchain technology.
This method of election will be more secure than traditional documents.
Some of you could be surprised but nowadays is much harder to fake electronic documents than peace of paper.

    1. Electronic election is the solution for disabled people but also the for people who do not want to waste time staying in the queue.

  2. I think that electronic voting is a future of election, but we are at the beginning of this road. Similar like with classical voting there is always a doubt if some one isn’t trying to abuse his power to change the result of election. The level of uncertainty is directly proportional to the trust we have in rulers. I don’t assume that this could ever change for 100% trust for the people in power but I believe one day we will be able to trust in the voting systems with that kind of certainty.

kbolek – both of the application already use blockchain technology, but as the one of specialist said they were very easy to chacked

  3. I agree with Klara, digital voting is the future and in a few or a dozen years it will become commonplace in many countries. In the current US presidential election, it was used to give people with disabilities a chance to vote at all. I think in a progressive society where a lot of people own a mobile phone or a computer, this will also encourage new young voters to vote. In my opinion, a big advantage of this solution is the fact that there is no need to organize a large number of polling stations that generate costs and need a lot of volunteers. In a country like America, where one state is the size of a European country and the population is large, it can be a problem to open enough polling stations so that all people can vote. I like Estonia's approach to general elections (I think we discussed it once), where every citizen has an electronic ID card and thanks to it, he can vote electronically and there is no problem with verification.
Of course, there will always be speculations as to whether such a solution is 100% safe and will not affect the election results. Even if, as already mentioned, the systems use blockchain technology. And as Kamil said, digital voting may be safer than traditional voting. Remember that there may always be someone who will try to rig the election. And there will always be a losing side who, in its bitterness after defeat, will believe that this falsification has potentially happened.

    1. As you wrote the US is a very big country, where sometimes one state is bigger than a European country so the electronic election seems to be a good solution from the point of logistic of election.

  4. Today, the world is in a difficult and unusual situation, which is the coronovirus pandemic, which forced the world to adapt to the new situation. It is not known when the coronavirus pandemic will end, people have to learn to live with it. For this reason, most presidential elections in the United States were held by correspondence. There were states where you could vote by post, but also by computer or mobile phone. The video shows two voting systems: Voatz and Democracy Live. The Voatz system was created as an application for a mobile phone, while the Democracy Live system allowed voting by computer via a computer browser. Such systems are very helpful for people with disabilities, but such a solution may appeal to everyone. It is not difficult to use and you don't even have to leave the house to vote or be on the other side of the world. Internet safety is also mentioned in the video. Authorization methods similar to those in the bank seem to be a good solution. As an IT specialist, I can say that everything can be faked, both correspondence and stationary elections, but the question remains whether it is an easy process. It certainly makes sense to create such systems, because I think, will become an indispensable element of voting in the future.
