Hello everyone!
I would like to share
with you an interesting artictle I came across while doing some reading and
research on the Internet. It pertains to influencers and influencers'
marketing, the phenomenon of which I find very interesting. I really hope you
will enjoy it and share your thoughts and opinions in a fruitful and
constructive discussion. Here's the link to the article:
My questions:
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer
have?
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the
rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided.
Before the days of social media, a consumer could only see a product through
print advertisements, billboards, radio ads, and television commercials. Today,
a consumer now can interact with a product through social media. Watching a
trusted source, such as
Fink, use a product allows
consumers to feel as if they are making a more informed decision when making a purchase.
Do you agree with this statement? Would you be more willing to purchase an item
promoted by a blogger, vlogger, celebrity etc.?
3. Do you think that
influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of
promotion go out of date?
4. Do you follow any influencers
in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you
find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that
so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteI thank that successful influencer should have a personality, that would make me feel like I want to be a friend to him/her. That I can relate to him/her or he/she provide me some valuable information. Unfortunately nowadays most of posts and videos are sponsored and it is hard to trust someone that is another salesman. What is more the important role plays humor and entertainment skills.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. Well this is tricky, because I would like to trust someone when they recommend it to me. But I had very bad experience by trusting and buying some products that were actually totally a waste of money. It would be grate if we could somehow donate to creators, so they do not have to do a sponsored posts and videos, I would appreciate it a lot.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
Still I think it is worth using, and it seems to still grow. I think that promotion techniques will change, since a lot of magazines are having problem with sales, tv is not watched so often anymore, and people get bored more and more easily. There is a concept of using augmented or virtual reality in marketing. The truth is that catching and keeping someones attention is really hard.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
There is few people that make tutorials or provide valuable information by being very transparent which I love and appreciate. They say exactly how much money they do and how. Some of them prepare some books summaries, others just daily vlogs.
Thank you for your comment. You made an excellent point by saying that "successful influencer should have a personality, that would make me feel like I want to be a friend to him/her". I totally agree with this statement. Influencers can really do their job and that is "influence others", only if people can relate to them and find them likeable. They cannot be perceives as strangers from the Internet or celebrities, there should be the guys and girls next door, the ones that you like and know from at least early childhood.
Delete1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteShe should be honest with them. Should a skinny person advertise weight loss pills? And should it necessarily be done by a person wearing a carcass? Personally, advertising is the most appealing to me (regardless of the medium) simply normal. So this person should have normal features.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. I used to watch a program where it was shown that the best coffee advertisement is done by using Coca-Cola. Then the most beautiful drop is created. Is it possible to buy something more consciously or not using advertising on social media? Should the opinion of one blogger encourage us or not to buy something?
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
All promotion methods will be up to date. Today it is tomorrow that is on top. You can not assume that one way of promotion will give us 100% success. Let's take Coca-Cola. It publishes posters, advertising films, pays advertising on the radio and on the Internet. Do you think that people are not sitting there and do not think about a 100% effective salvo?
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
Many of us follow people known in social media. Many famous people want to appear in social media just to follow people. Why today, the president, prime minister or speaker of the Sejm is writing a tweet. Just to reach people who only follow personalities of social media.
I personally don't use social media so I can't say who I follow or not.
And what about a skinny person advertising weight-loss pills, because owing to them he or she is skinny right now? I also think that succesfull marketing strategy involves all kinds of promotion ways, the novelties and the more traditional ones. I only do not support using leaflets, because it's a terrible waste of paper and no one is really keeping them for more than 30 seconds. They're thrown away to the next bin available.
Delete1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteFollowers (tongue in cheek), but really: Authenticity, Confidence and Interactivity.
It's about being different than fake commercials, and
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. To some extent I've already done that - e.g. watching computer hardware or game reviews from independent vloggers and basing the decision to purchase on what I saw in their content (not necessarily on their personal opinion or recommendation).
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
No, there is too much money in advertising for it to happen. With their budgets, they can create 'vloggers' out of thin air, or tempt existing independent social media influencers to sell out to them. The lack of authenticity will only become apparent after some time, giving the advertisers some momentum to capitalize on.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
None that I know of. In case of some travel related vloggers I watched, they never were bringing up any products. In case of educational videos, some included advertisements of e-learning platforms, but I consider this a normal advertisement, slapped on top of the video. Maybe the closest I have ever gotten to this "influencer" scheme is when watching LinusTechTips channel, where real products are tested, but I never really considered buying anything they tested (Apple products etc.). I may get some information about current trends in computers, but when I need to buy one, I just go to an e-commerce site, sort by price ascending, and go down the list until I find something good enough for my needs. Often it's on the first page of results, but sometimes I need to filter the list to get rid of really sub-par offers.
Thank you very much for your comment. I also think that influencers marketing is a temporary thing that's fashionable right now, but in the end so new way of attracting people's attention will be invented, as nowadays, people get bored very quickly.
Delete1.What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteThe successful influencer should have the following characteristics: confidence, authenticity, interactivity. The influencer should feel the marketing and enhances relationships with followers as well.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. I agree with the citied statement. Almost every person has a Facebook account or use YouTube where he/she can observe, like or subscribe a lot of influencers who advertise something. As the author mentioned, thanks to the modern social media, the consumer is close to the product and can interact with it more intensively than it was in the past. The enhancing relationships with followers by influencers gives the opportunity to promote the product through a personal recommendation which can turn a follower into a brand consumer. Some of my friends observe some influencers e.g.: on Instagram. Especially, girls who like cosmetics and they often buy cosmetics which are advertised! If you ask me about more willingness to purchase an item promoted by a blogger and etc, I have to say that it does not performs significant influence on me!
3.Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
In my opinion the influencers’ marketing is the future of sales and marketing. The social media are becoming the essential part of people's life. The social media are developed and the newer and newer versions of social media appear and they include new functionalities in comparison to previous version. The access to social media is very easy. You can be, for example, in the bus and watch advertisements. As for the standard ways of promotion, like print advertisements, billboards, radio ads, and television commercials, I think that they will be continued but their popularity will fall down.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I cannot say that I follow any influencers in social media but I like watching tourist profiles like Martyna Wojciechowska. She is not a 100% influencer but I can sometimes see on her profile on Facebook or Instagram what she advertises - the sportswear or suitcases! She even advertised jewelry recently!
Thank you very much for your comment. I'm not sure if influener's marketing is really the future of sales and marketing. I do agree with you that social media play important role in our society, but I also think that soon some other way of advertising on the Internet and in social media will have to be invented, as modern people get bored with everything pretty fast and everybody wants to be surprised.
Delete1.What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteI think that successful influencer is the person who people want to listen and follow what they say. Usually their gained influence through the force of their personalities. The self-confidence and authenticity it’s attributes of good influencer.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. Yes, I agree with this statement. People are aware that advertisements is a manipulation and they don’t trust commercials, but when they are being convincing by their favorite influencer who is a client just like them, they believe them. From the other hand some influencers are corrupted, and they promote products that are not good, but they get payed to do it. So, I think that it's possible to find trust-full influencer, but I would not relay on their opinion only.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
Influencers' marketing might by one of the future ways of marketing, but I think that this field is constantly changing, and probably some other, more efficient way of advertising will be discovered.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I’m not following any influencers, but I think that the reason why so many people do it is they trust them more than producers.
Thank you very much for your input. I do understand that people don't trust the producers any more, but I don't quite get how can you trust a person who gets paid for advertising that particular product and not the other, or who receives goods in return for positive feedback with regards to them.
Delete1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteThe Influence can briefly describe an influential person who can influence the decision or opinion of others. However, such a definition of an Influencer is a bit troublesome. In practice each one of us has a possibility to influence decisions of a different person. In a much wider context, the influencer not only influences, but also has permanent relations with mass audiences, who strongly identify with it. He is able to skillfully influence the opinions of the community around him. Alternatively, we can define such a person as a leader or opinion leader.

It will be much easier to influence the opinion of our customers when we are perceived as experts in a given field. Another category of Influencers are also public figures - politicians, athletes, journalists or simply celebrities. Their sphere of influence usually goes much further than a blogger or a person running a YouTube blog. Where do we come across infuencers on the Internet? Practically in every social media, starting with the most popular Facebook, traditional blog, Twitter or Snapchat, which is gaining more and more fans.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
Influencers create three times more engaging content than non opinion leaders, and each of their material has four times as much influence on the purchasing decisions of their customers. The benefits that companies can have from working with opinion leaders are:
• influcencer reaches the perfectly matched group of recipients, so the cost of reaching potential customers is lower,
• The influcencer is more authentic and more reliable than pushy and invasive advertising,
• Influencer content is resistant to AdBlock programs,
• content created by the Influencer has a chance to spread with the snowball method,
• The influencer may have a fresh, new look at the product.
Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
No, I didn't even know that such a profession exists. The Influencer testing the product is also a consumer. He or she uses a language that the customer understands and draws attention to the characteristics that are important for the person looking for purchasing advice. This shortens the distance between the brand and the customers. In addition, influencers carry out a variety of activities - from blog entries, through a photo shoot, to participation in an event. They also support their campaigns with promotion in social media. It is worth remembering that content created by influecers is often commented on and made available by other bloggers, vloggers and other influential Internet users, which broadens the scope of recipients and allows them to reach new, potential customers. Advertisements can never be seen as a tower.
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteA good influencer should be trustworthy and self-confident. He/she should be charismatic in order to attract people and be able to listen to his/her community.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. I don't entirely agree with this statement. This type of advertisement is one-sided anyway, because influencers are paid and they have to say what the advertisers tell them. This can even be harmful if the influencers recommend something that is really bad.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
Currently, this is still only an addition to traditional advertising campaigns. And for the next few years I think it will remain that way. However, advertisements displayed on the Internet will become more and more important than television and press advertisements and then cooperation with influencers may become much more advantageous.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
Sometimes I watch Krzysztof Gonciarz's vlogs. I like advertising campaigns, which he realized in cooperation with Intel, where the Internet video grows to the rank of art. If someone was interested in it I give links:

Thank you very much for your comment. You're the very first person that came up with an actual name of an actual influencer in the article comment. I really appreciate it, and I have to admit, I did like the videos you mentioned.
Delete1. What characteristics, as per the article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteI think that we have to distinguish two paths here: (1) what characteristics should ones have to become a successful influencer and (2) which influencer is successful in the meaning of positive brand marketing. The article mention words of one of the influencer who said that “the reason why I have become so successful is because all of my content is one hundred percent me. My personality on camera mirrors my personality off camera; there is no acting”. And I agree that "being authentic" is a significant factor of becoming a successful influencer. When considering the second type of the question, the article said that the success factor is in placing products in photos, directly linking the company to potential consumers, and answering consumers’ comments. This shines a positive light on the advertised brand as well as encouraging consumers to recognize that the brand will help answer their problems. Also, a positive attitude is essential in marketing, so when the influencer consistently uses word such as “excited,” “amazing,” and “success” in the video, which verbally shows followers that he/she is confident in the brand.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. Yes, and there are numbers which support that statement. The influencer-based marketing has shown that the general public receives it well (if the campaign is done smart and in the natural, non-intrusive way) and has a positive impact for sales.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
I think that they are complementary to each other. Still, it is tough to beat the results of classical TV advertising in the meaning of sales results.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I'm following ElectorBOOM (https://www.youtube.com/user/msadaghd) who is always using tools from Keysight (https://www.keysight.com) and advertising it funnily. He knows what he is doing which builds an authority on the field, so he can say which product is worth using.
Funny thing: I also like to watch ElectroBOOM, but can't recall him mentioning Keysight, although I must have seen it :-)

Speaking only for myself, I would not be more willing to purchase item promoted by a blogger. Sometimes i am looking for product reviews but never solu relay on their advertisement.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
At this point this seems to be really interesting way for optimising sales funnel and conversion. But there are many other ways for brand recognition such as content marketing, SEO, CSR programs etc.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I do not follow any random influencer. As I stated before sometimes when I am looking for some product review I am using those reviews as one of the information sources.
Thank you for your comment. I'm also looking for products review, if I plan to buy something I have no knowledge of. But very rarely do I check vlogs or blogs. Only if they pop up in the search engine.
Delete1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteA successful influencer should:
- enchance relationship with followers
- have brand specific tags on website profile
- make a realtable impression on followers
- mark product by personality

I aggree with this statement. Before I buy a product I check it by reading many opinions about it. I don’t trust promoted products becouse I know that sometimes the product is not so good. If the influencer is trustworthles then this method could help make a better decison.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
I think is a good alternative and mayby is the future of sales. More important is the knowledge of the influencers about the product. I remeber that before I bought a smartfon I watched a youtube channel in wchich a youtuber showed a smartfon and tell about its performance.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
No, I don't follow any influencers. I don't have time for it.
I think that authentic influencers that have a narrow target audience are beneficial for both, marketers and customers.
ReplyDeleteFor me, future of a marketing are contextual adds, but still, infulencers are quite close to that idea.
Back in a days I liked Alpha M. on youtube who is introducing some products for man. Unfortunately it was for the American market, but if I was living in the US I would probably buy some of recommended products.
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteInfluencer should appeal to feelings, should plan everything down to tiniest details - do not improvise. At the same time, should look authentic and self-confident. Successful influencer acts as if he/she really cared about followers opinions.

I think I could purchase some tool tested by maker vlogger/blogger. As for celebrities, I'm not interested in this stuff.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
I hope it is just a next bubble, and algorithmically targeted ads will win.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I hope no! The moment I start to suspect anyone of being influencer, she/he is off my roster. I can't understand how it is possible that people are interested in somebody's opinion on things outside of specialized field.
I also don't quite get this phenomenon, but it's a sad reality.People want to follow other people, they want to stuck their noses in their lives, they want to know what influencers ate for breakfast, what they wear, where they go, what cream they use, what sunglasses they have. They want to admire someone, take after someone, copy someone's behaviour and lifestyle to seem as happy as the person in the picture or in the movie. It's sad that we live in times that we want to be copycats of other people - people who get paid to advertise certain products and lifestyle.
Delete1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteGood influencer should be authentic and inspire confidence. This two characteristics are the key to build sucessful image and to build the followers community.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. For me it is a matter of trust. I do not have any trusted blogger or celebrity, so this type of advertising is not working for me. Usually I prefer to read some comments about a product from annonymus users, escpecially the negative ones to find, what are usual problems with this product.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
I think that different people have a different way to be influenced, so I believe in future there still will be a place for different types of marketing.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I dont have any, sorry, maybe I am too old for this :)
1. He should be confident, authentic and communicative with his audience to get to know their feedback about the product he is advertising.
ReplyDelete2. I think that a lot of people now rely on the opinions of bloggers and vloggers. Personally, when I buy a product, I also look for opinions on the internet, in some forums. However, the fact that this product is being promoted by a well-known person would not encourage me to buy it, I realize that actors or vloggers get a lot of money for promoting this product, no matter if it's good quality or not, as long as it's sold. In my case, I will be tempted to buy something advertised more ordinary. I do not like when someone, every time I watch his video, squeezes an advertisement for a product for a minute.
3. I do not think so. Television commercials still have a large audience. In addition, it would be strange if the known youtuber advertised a new promotion in Biedronka, when you just have to hang the ad in front of the store. In addition, it is often faster to pass the verse after the advertising newspaper of a particular store than to watch a review on the web.
4. I do not follow any such person. However, if my favorite youtubers recommend something like PewDiePie or NikkieTutorials and I am able to believe them that this product is really good, it does not mean that I’ll buy it immediately. I think that the people I mentioned are honest in their opinions and if something is really poor quality, they will say it and will not promote something they do not like, or do not use it only because someone paid for it.
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteA Successful influencer should take care of the relationship with the recipient and his trust. Very important are also authenticity and honesty.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. I agree with the author of the article. On the other hand I wouldn’t be more willing to purchase an item promoted by a famous person. I will be willing to purchase an item well-tested by a specialist in a specific field. I suspect that I would be based more on his experience than on popularity, although undoubtedly both of these realities are interrelated.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
I don’t know but I think that influencers’ marketing isn’t the future of sales and marketing. Probably the new methods will be discovered - that will create even more trust and put more pressure on the client. The best method of sale as of today is to make the customer aware of how much he loses without having a product or a service.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I do not follow any influencers in social media. Unfortunately, I do not see anything interesting about it. On the other hand, I follow specialists in fields in which I’m interested but it is an another matter.
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteSuccessful influencer should build direct relationships with its key consumers. To reach this goal it should find optimal ratio quality of content, also frequency of activity
is important. It is needed to encourage users to feedbacks, comments and subscriptions
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. Before the days of social media, a consumer could only see a product through print advertisements, billboards, radio ads, and television commercials. Today, a consumer now can interact with a product through social media. Watching a trusted source, such as
Fink, use a product allows consumers to feel as if they are making a more informed decision when making a purchase. Do you agree with this statement? Would you be more willing to purchase an item promoted by a blogger, vlogger, celebrity etc.?
Yes, I totally agree with this statement. The day of New Media has become. Product today must be not only the product at all, but also your friend, whom you can trust. For this reason, it is more luckily to person to be influenced by the one about he know more, like bloggers actually are.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
It is not the future of marketing - it is its present. But other ways of promotion will survive until there are older people, who do not use social media as frequently and purposefully as their children.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
Today most of people follow celebrities or bloggers. Any of them could write a tweet or share an image, that I will see and which can be a topic for discussion with others. But, as for me, it is more about opinions and facts, than about brands. If I would like to buy something, the last person I will trust is the one who earns money on my choice.
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteA successful influence should be confident, responsible, trustworthy and factual. These are the main features that should distinguish it and influence others.
2. The author of the article stated that: "Before the rise of social media influencers, advertising to brand consumers was one-sided. I am from those lucky ones who do not follow the trends that prevail. If I saw a "known" blogger or other "celebrity", I would not even know about it.
Additionally, no celebrities in advertisements convince me. They raise the price of the product, which most of the cost of production is advertising.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
Other ways of advertising are much more widespread and rooted. I can not imagine (despite not watching TV) television without advertising. Consumers are also used to it.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
As above I am not interested in any celebrities. The only thing I can add in this statement is that I am irritated by the fact of making random people "celebrities" through absurdities or just stupidity.
Thank you so much for the last sentence you wrote. I thought I'm the only one that gets irritated by those "fake stars", "fake celebrities". They're famous because they're famous, like Kim Kardashian or our Polish Kim "Natalia Siwiec" or the two rather infamous sisters named Godlewskie.
Delete1. As it is stated in the given article - „The rise of social media influencer marketing on lifestyle branding: a case study of Lucie Fink”, a successful influencer should have a three main characteristics, which were determined based on a previous studies on mentioned matter. These are: confidence, authenticity and interactivity. Having confidence in the relation to influencer, means that someone truly believes in himself and his own opinions. It leads to the ability of convincing the viewers - possible consumers - that advertised products are truly the best for them and they should just buy them. These trait is crucial to provide an efficient marketing - the whole point of it is to sell specific products. Second character mentioned in the article is authenticity. This one means that the influencer is someone that each one of us can relate to and say: „I believe in what he/she said because he/she is just like me, having the same problems and thinking about the same stuff”. When we can place ourselves in the influencer’s shoes, then we can at some point think of his/her ideas as our owns. The last mentioned characteristics is interactivity. It means that influencer works together with the viewers, asking them questions, making quizzes and contests for them, which also includes getting some feedback from them. It is truly important, because this means that such person achieve the main goal of the marketing - connection with the viewers, wich can easily lead to making them buy advertised products.
ReplyDelete2. It seems to me that for sure nowadays marketing depends on something more than just one-way advertisement - today it is all about the interaction with a client and to give him or her possibilities to try the product before buy them, even if it is only through another person - the influencer. Personally though, I won’t be more willing to purchase an item promoted by some sort of celebrity or blogger. In my opinion it is not smart to buy some product only because certain person advertise it and say it is the best. Maybe if it would be a scientist or a doctor (in case of cosmetics or medicaments), but even then I can’t be sure that given opinion is not based on the money they receive from the company, selling specific goods. So if you ask me, I will not buy a product solely because some celebrity told me to ;)
3. As far as I’m concerned influencers’ marketing will be one of the main ways of advertising but I don’t think that it will completely replace other ways of promotion. A lot of people will listen to bloggers or vloggers and base their decision to buy an item on influencer’s opinion, because they will be sure that if someone try it and than make all the video about it, than it must be a hit. But I also think that other ways of promotion will be still up-to-date. Firstly, there are lot of people who don’t use the social media or Youtube at all, mainly older person, but not only. What’s more, there is a group of people, who - like me - don’t actually believe completely in impartiality of influencers. So I think that also traditional methods - such as billboards, TV adds or print advertisements - will also have a place in a product’s marketing.
4. As I mentioned above, I am not following any influencers in social media. In fact, you must have any social media to start with, when it comes to following the influencer, which I don’t have;) When I want to buy some product, I mainly try to read - as much as possible - on-line opinions about such product on the Internet, and I am focusing on the bad ones. I am aware that most of them may be written by such company - or on the contrary, by company’s business oponent, but when you have, for example, only 2 negatives opinion ad they are not connected to tha main useful traits, it is for me a clear clue, that the product is worth buying. And for me, this is much better than just listen to the opinion of one influencer, who also might be biased. After all, the true opinion of specific product I will obtain after I buy and start to use it.
1. What characteristics, as per article, should a successful influencer have?
ReplyDeleteInfluencer should be authentic, confident and interactive. She or he has to seem to be reliable so i can trust what is said. He/She hac to be confident so he/she believes what he/she said and makes it more authentic. Ineraction give people feeling that they are friends to each other and it is easier to trust.

When I look for a particular product I often reads some blogs and search for opinions on the internet. That makes me liable to influencers because sometimes it is hard to istinguish real review of a product from those maid by paid influencers.
3. Do you think that influencers' marketing is the future of sales and marketing? Will other ways of promotion go out of date?
I think it is a future but other types of advertisments won't disappear. People trust more other peoople especcialy if they can talk to them so influencers are better source of advert than tradditional ones.
4. Do you follow any influencers in social media? If so, can you share with us, who those people are and why you find them interesting and worth mentioning? What is so special about them that so many people are interested in their opinions, lifestyle?
I don't think so. Usually I follow some particula pages connected to my interest but not exect people.
Hi,
ReplyDelete1. As I understood the intention of the article, a influencer should be reliable person, attractive in personality terms and honestly playing with the client. Very ambitious, looking nice and ethical approach. For me, however, this is kind of mission impossible, for reasons mentioned below.
2. This commercial issue is really difficult for me, because I do not like influencers and I really don’t believe in marketing. I avoid advertisements as much as I can. I don’t feel comfortable also with modern kinds of that, in social media, blogs etc. For me they try to attract our attention simply to attract our money in a while, only. And they have nothing to do with honest information about the product.
3. I can believe such kind of marketing will develop in the future. Personally, however, I cannot imagine the situation when I follow someone independently on my own opinion. And I don’t see effective ways of promotion. This is really difficult market, huge challenge.
4. I underline, I do not, unfortunately. I can’t stop suspecting, that such people try to convince me to spend my money on something they personally they don’t believe, doing that job only for money. To believe such commercial representative I would have to trust him as a person, and that could be possible only when I had possibility to know him better.
Anyhow, many thanks for interesting article and inspiring questions,
Best regards,
Marta
