Everyone from us experiences tiredness, isn't important how this is formed. Sometimes we have this because our work is monotonous, or we study to much. This tiredness causes decrease our capabilities, mostly for people who take to much responsibilities. Even if we take a holidays then after this time we come back to this again... and again...
I read last time some nice articles:
and
If you are not tired before Easter please have a look there ;)
Anyway, this time i don't want to produce many questions because I appreciate your time (before Easter) so please only "try" to answer : How to fight with this?
Happy Easter for everyone!
You found a very exhaustive guide about tiredness (no pun intended). Perhaps fighting tiredness is not exactly the right approach, but I see what you mean. I'm interested to read that chronic tiredness is now considered a disease. It's almost funny, but apparently can be a real problem that gets in the way of healthy living. 1 in 10 people suffer from prolonged fatigue at any given time.
ReplyDeleteApart from the usual ways of dealing with tiredness: staying in good shape, getting a good amount of daily exercise, I would add finding routine in your day-to-day life. Your body works in cycles and it is best to accommodate them by sticking to a timely schedule. This is especially true for meals because, along with the day-night cycle, food intake is what regulates our internal bio-clock.
As for sleeping, some people find they sleep better at night, when they time their sleep around multiples of 90 minutes:
http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifehack/90-minutes-sleep-cycle.html
So, all in all, there are ways to improve your resistance to fatigue and it makes sense to employ some of them, but as the article notes - one should have realistic expectations.
Hi @Wiktor, you have a nice point of view for this problem. Of course i fully agree that staying in good shape, getting a good amount of daily exercise is good for us, but this can be also very hard to do if you don't have a time. I read also about "works in cycles" and I know that this can help but like I said before this is hard to realize. Anyway thank you for a nice ideas! Happy Easter for you, it will be time to rest and relax and of course time to lose good shape ;)
DeleteI think that people are chronic tiredness is due to their life style. These days, everyone focuses on earning as much money as possible and at the same time spend as much money as possible through this they work more and more they lives in stress and all that makes that they feel constantly tired. They lives in constant tension and stress from the fear of that they will lose their job.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason which according to me can leading to the chronic fatigue is that people can not manage their time and plan their work repeatedly they have a lot of tasks to do at the same time and everything is urgent and important.
Thats why they are chronic fatigue I think that in the past people hadn't such kind problems:)
'Slow life' - it's our only hope :)
DeleteBTW. I also vote for 'slow food'. Eating junk food may increase the fatigue.
DeleteI fully agree with you. But we can't slow down, so free time we mostly spent to learning something new. Is not always result in fear of losing their jobs but pursuit of other people.
DeleteI agree with Waldek that 'Slow life' - it is our only hope:)
DeleteJacek you have right that it isn't always result in fear of losing their jobs but in many cases it is look at the people who take credit for car or for house:)
I found the presented topic very interesting. I also read articles indicated by links, not because I am not tired before Easter, but for having a good excuse allowing not to do house works ;-).
ReplyDeleteThe problem of tiredness is so interesting for me, because from the one hand is very common. But for the other hand, when it has psychological reasons it seems not to be treated too seriously. In my case it seems to have the psychological reasons.
I do not know how to fight with it, but I can tell what I do in my life:
1. I try to have a proper balance between work and rest time. I do not have any strict rule saying how much time I should spend on each of these activities, because some work tasks are not completely predictable.
2. I do not introduce too many changes in my live at once. It gives me some stabilization.
3. In contrast to article I do not spend too much time on planning my private life. I have to plan a lot in my work so I like to rest from planning later. Additionally I have a tendency for over-planning, which makes me additionally frustrated.
4. I try to do one physical activity (including house works) every day.
Thank you for this tips. Of course yours tips is a really good idea but only (for me) if you have a good life stabilization. If you are still looking for something more, better job this problem appear again and again. I try to fight with tiredness just like you ;)
DeleteAfter reading your reply I have just noticed that "stabilization" appears as a clue. Wiktor previously wrote about stabilization of the daily life-cycle by having meals at the same time. It sounds good and reasonable. I had not done it before and I made my mind to start doing it (nowadays I eat when I am hungry).
DeleteI achieved some stabilization in a week life cycle - I mostly iron my clothes on Sunday :-).
Nonetheless I am a not well-organized person. Personally I have to say that I started to control my life only a few years ago. Additionally I still see a long way before me.
Thank you for presented article - it gave me knowledge about tiredness in a compressed way. If I feel tired I will return to it.
I wish you good luck in your fight and HAPPY EASTER for everybody!!!
Thx @Grzegorz for your reply and thx for wishes
DeleteWith curiosity I read the article, because I few years ago I myself had serious problems because of tiredness. I worked it out with them but not necessarily exactly as proposed made in both articles. As with other difficult issues at the beginning my efforts failed me because I fought the symptoms instead perceive the source of the problem!
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that tiredness is not completely medical or a psychological problem. For me it is CIVILISATION problem. The system in which we live is extremely incompatible with nature. That is inconsistency with the environment in which we live and incompatible with human nature. Let's pay attention to certain facts relating to the system in which we operate:
- There isn't a natural state in which every day for five days a week in an equal extent, we need to be focused on the efforts. It is natural that one day we can work one or two hours but another day of eight or more. Just pay attention that many people have difficulties in work, depending on the weather or season. The long winter in the northern part of the planet is a natural period of reduced efforts. This can be seen in the behavior of animals and plants. It is the natural world of which we are a part.
- Similarly, it isn't consistent with the nature the state continuous competition and uncertainty, which we experience mostly at work. In the Middle Ages the stability of the position in the community was guaranteed ( for example: the nobility, the bourgeoisie, artisans). Organization of society existing in those days, had ensured a much calmer and less stressful life. Therefore were much less so-called lifestyle diseases including chronic fatigue, depression, etc.
- We are trying of the good state of physical and intellectual development, but we forget that to have the fully balance, we the need to also take care of the state SPIRITUAL. Our grandparents and great-grandparents knew that the state of Spirit is the source of physical success and intellectual success.
I agree with you. You've covered the true root cause of the tiredness problem.
DeleteThe question is how can we revert ourselves into balance again?
The speed of the our world development is increasing and there are no signs of that speed reduction mechanisms I'm afraid.
Very interested point of view. If I understand, this will deepen even more. So what you suggest for this ? If we have a problem in work (like you wrote) we can avoid monotonous work through start own business. But how we can coexist with nature in big city?
DeleteTaking too much responsibility for things that should not bother us or are out of our control make us tired I believe.
ReplyDeleteThe big tiredness maker is a lack of sleep.
… well I must admit that I find it difficult to write something meaningful today.
It must be tiredness I think.
And it lasts for several months if not years. Is there any way to stop it?
I thing that one of the main reasons why we get tired is the instant work.
DeleteFew decades ago people did not work at the same stress / speed level as we do.
During a year people usually had some shifting (like crop rotation) regarding the intensity of their work.
They had few months of hard work but also few months of stress relief. They had a time to regenerate, think, talk, read, grow kids, ... live.
Exactly! I had no idea that so many people have a problem with that. In my life tiredness appeared in the last year when I started learn many new things. And at this moment I don't have bloody idea how to deal with it ;)
DeleteVery interesting article. I personally like to always look at the goals of my activity. If I'm tired first of all I ask my self what cause me such exhausted, then I think if it was worth it? I believe that tiredness can be medical or psychological problem . In many cases we are tired because our bad habits, lack of organization in our life or because of physical or psychological problems. For me reason of tiredness is paying too much attention to little valuable activities.
ReplyDeleteI think you not understand what I mean. This article treats tiredness as a long "process" in your life. Everyone can be tired once from some activity, but this tiredness we can easily finish.
DeleteAnyway I understand what you mean and thank you for reply.
One could say that tiredness has become a part of our modern lifestyle. The typical answer to being tired is just drinking another coffee and hoping it will be enough. Taking things slow and having more free time is often not an option, or at very least it's a risky one. If anything, we need to do more in a limited time, requiring us to work overtime or worry about deadline during our supposed free time. We postpone relaxing activities for vaguely defined "later".
ReplyDeleteIn some cases, it's almost a paradox - to truly take care of tiredness, you'd need a longer break from work and stress of your everyday life. However, in order to take such break, you need to afford it, which requires you to work even harder - or have to deal with mountain of paperwork after you get back to your old life. Naturally, changing things for good would be the best solution, but, sadly, this is much easier said than done.
The solution? Well, if there was one, we wouldn't really be having such discussion. For some people, the ideas mentioned in previous comments would work. Others barely have time for them or become even more tired or bored. People are too different to have some universal truth that will make them relaxed - unless they have access to resources well beyond those of normal working men. With sufficient money, one could try pretty much everything and find something "just right". Hardly a realistic option.
Of course you have right with this paradox, however for example we can open our own company like many people and then we can manage our holidays in bigger flexibility ;)
DeleteFrom my personal experience I can tell that recently I felt fatigued and tired on most of my working days. Looking back I think that there were several factors that contributed to this (most of them listed in the articles presented). So firstly, after working several years in the same company I got bored with the day-to-day activities that were quite repeatable. Secondly, I was not in a good physical shape (as I did not have regular exercises). So after I determined what is causing the issues I decided to make some changes in my life. I quit my job and opened up my own company and I started to have regular sport activities.
ReplyDeleteAfter changing this I must admit that I feel fatigued less often. So I encourage everyone to make a step in the right direction as soon as you realize that you are tired too often.
This is exactly what I intend to do over the next months ;)
DeleteIt is hard to take the position on the topic, we all get very tired most of
ReplyDeletethe time. Nowadays the world has accelerated to such break necking speed,
that average working person has hardly time for anything. The constant lack
of free time to spend on entertainment and relaxation makes us feel even
more tired than we really are.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I agree with you all but I must say that, since I have no problem with that. Complain about a lack of time but I take responsibility for it less of yourself. I do not feel
so very tired and sometimes it is not there. Regularly I run in the morning and evening. I'm starting to also be more and more forces on the run for the competition. I think that every form of movement strengthens human
relaxes and we can find the strength to work and everyday life. I recommend a healthy lifestyle is really going to help.
Tiredness, medical or psychological problem ?
ReplyDeleteI think Tiredness is not a medical problem or psychological. I think it's a problem with the amount of pointless work to do. Too much sensory data invading our brains.
How to fight with this?
I know a great way to get rid of such problems. Focus on the important things and less work.
